Tutorial CRM - Getting Started, New Account

An Account represents a Business Entity that is coducting a commercial transaction with your organization. This entitiy can be an individual or another organization. Each account must be linked to a Contact.

An Opportunity can only be created for an account.


New Account

Description

Click the "New Account" icon on the main toolbar.


Select Contact

Description

Each account (Business Entity) must have a Primary Contact. In case this is an Individual i.e. not an Organization/Company un-check the " Organization ..." checkbox.


Search Contact

Description

Click the Start button to list Contacts.

The Search Contact form, has many options. When the Start button is clicked the default action is to list all contacts owned by you. To list Contacts owned by your subordinates you can select a subordinate or tick the "All" checkbox. Now clicking the Start button will list all contacts that are owned by your subordinates.


Select Contact

Description

Select Contact and click the Add button.


Exit Search

Description

Your selection will now show "1" as we have earlier selected one contact. Close the Search form.


Save

Description

The primary contact company name is automatically filled in as the Account name and Company name. Each account name must be unique, Save the new account.
